Grounded in the Bible

Grounded in the Bible delivers weekly Bible studies directly to your inbox!

Every person who is seeking truth and connection with God needs a source for learning. The primary source of learning should be the Bible itself - God’s word. That’s why each study from Grounded in the Bible is filled with Scripture. Each study strives to bring out important concepts in the Bible to help you grow in your relationship with Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:7 says, “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” For some, the studies from Grounded in the Bible may plant a seed in your heart to help you realize you need a relationship with God. For others, the studies from Grounded in the Bible may water the seed that has been planted by someone else. But no matter what the study is, only God can make that information grow in your heart to bring you closer to him. My greatest prayer is that God will use my humble writings to help his children grow.

Why subscribe?

By subscribing, a new Bible study will be delivered to your inbox every week. You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Those studies will be there for you to read and re-read, or share with others. These new weekly Bible studies will always be free.

Some posts will be simple devotionals or thoughts God has laid on my heart, tied in with Scripture. Some posts will be a part of a series of lessons intended to be a more in-depth Bible study on a specific topic. Every post or series will point you to the good news of Jesus Christ and the work he has done to save you for eternity.

What are the benefits of a free subscription?

  • Weekly Bible studies delivered directly to your inbox: This is the core mission of Grounded in the Bible, and that won’t ever change. Whether you are a free subscriber or a paid subscriber, you will receive these weekly Bible studies.

  • Access to discussion posts: Discussion posts are intended to get your feedback or ideas on a question I pose to the group. These will be most impactful if everyone participates, so please share your thoughts!

  • Access to Gumroad: Gumroad is the site I use to host my premium resources for sale for a small fee. Premium resources are bonus materials that support the weekly Bible studies. Free subscribers are able to purchase individual or bundled resources as desired without the commitment of a paid subscription.

  • It only costs your email address!

What are the benefits of a paid subscription?

  • Weekly Bible studies delivered directly to your inbox

  • Access to discussion posts

  • Access to premium resources: Premium resources are bonus materials that support the weekly Bible studies. Some of the premium resources I’ve offered so far include journaling sheets, PowerPoint presentations, verse cards, and Bible bingo cards. I’m always trying to think of new ways to engage you in Bible study. Access to all past and present resources is included with a paid subscription.

  • Access to spontaneous ponderings: Sometimes I have Bible-related thoughts running through my head that may not be as fully developed as my weekly Bible studies. Occasionally, I might decide to put these thoughts onto paper and share them with you.

  • Access to past Bible studies: Eventually, I plan to collate completed Bible studies into leader guides that can be purchased through Gumroad. Once a study has a leader guide available for purchase, the series will be archived on Grounded in the Bible. Only paid subscribers will have access to these archived studies. (I haven’t started this process yet; all posts will remain free at least through the end of 2021. Some posts will always be free to all.)

  • Access to site indexes: As I begin to build my library of Bible studies, it may become difficult to find a study on a specific topic among all of the weekly posts. I will post indexes of articles that paid subscribers can peruse to find a Bible study that covers a topic they want to understand.

  • Only costs $5/month or $50/year.

Connecting on Social Media

If you like the community that is present in social media, you can connect with the me in several places, even if you decide not to subscribe. I sometimes post content on social media that you don’t get just from subscribing (like the weekly encouraging verse and short announcements), so this is a great way to stay in touch throughout the week!

If you want a place to connect with community and have spiritual discussions, I encourage you to join Grounded in the Bible’s Facebook group.

If you just want to see updates on new studies and the encouraging verse of the week, follow Grounded in the Bible’s Facebook page or on LinkedIn, Twitter, or Parler.

If you often don’t have time to read the full studies and want a short synopsis of the study in visual form, follow Grounded in the Bible on Instagram.
